Allison Vuchnich | Director

Award-winning journalist and news leader, Allison Vuchnich has built a decades-long career covering stories that serve the public with accountability, integrity and curiosity. 

As a health reporter, Allison provided national coverage on medical breakthroughs, health policy and inequities in care. Her investigative reporting exposed regulatory gaps and contributed to policy changes that strengthened protections for patients and consumers. Most recently, she helped launch and lead a national current-affairs program focussed on long-form, solutions-driven journalism examining complex topics. 

Allison has long been interested in how science, health and community intersect. Her years covering health combined with a deep appreciation for the arts as a powerful force for connection, creativity and well-being, drew her to Dancing with Parkinson’s and its mission.

She holds a Master of Science in Journalism from Northwestern University. She has worked for Global News, CTV, ABC and NBC and covered national and international events including the September 1 attacks, a coup in Thailand, Olympic Games and multiple elections.
