VOLUNTEER JOB DESCRIPTION

DWP is looking for individuals who have an interest in arts-based community nonprofits, with expertise in the arts, non-profit administration, non-profit law, due diligence,  board governance, fundraising/donor relations and marketing & communications. TERM: 1 Years

Experience & Competencies:

  • Prior experience on a non-profit Board or other related governance experience

  • Readiness to support fundraising for DWP through contacts, event support and donations

  • High level of personal commitment, willing to be "hands-on" as needed, within a small organization

  • Strong communication and networking skills and success in working within a diverse team

RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Attend quarterly board meetings

  • Active participation on one board/staff sub-committee

  • Commit to a 1 year term, 2-3 hours per month

  • Make DWP one of your top three charities with an annual donation

  • Assist with fundraising activities including event ticket sales or auction items

  • Stay informed about the organization and attend at least one program event annually

  • Assist the board in carrying out its fiduciary responsibilities

  • Contribute towards the creation of a collegial working relationship amongst board members
