Golden Groove: Lightning in a Bottle, Part I
Exploring the dangers, delights and dichotomies associated with Studio 54, we intersperse photos, facts, and creative movement /dance, to guide participants through the fashion and the fun on the dance floor but also the broader themes (inclusion/exclusion; authenticity/facade; freedom/containment) and the glories and pitfalls of experimentation and risk as they relate to this notorious nightclub.
Golden Groove: Lightning in a Bottle, Part 2
Facilitated by DWP's Sarah Robichaud and the AGO's Arts Educator Lauren Spring, this specially curated program is an inclusive opportunity for all seniors to combat isolation and come together to explore dance and celebrate the trailblazing aesthetics, performance styles and social freedoms connected with the Studio 54 era.
No dance experience required, all are welcome to join in for the fun and freedom of all things Studio 54.
To keep our dancers dancing, DWP is engaged with the community and planning events on an ongoing basis. Be sure to check this page regularly for updates AND:
Ongoing Happy Hour with Cary Shields
